In an instant, he was gone.  As Josh peddled down our driveway, some of the last words that we spoke to him that afternoon were, “Be home on time.”  Our words implied our house, here on earth.  We had no idea that a mere 35 minutes later, we would be hurriedly ushered to his side by a cycling friend to find him unconscious, not breathing and with no heart beat after being hit by a car in our neighborhood.  That he was at home.  But it was his Heavenly home, with God.

This is the Joshua Helfrich Memorial and Scholarship Foundation website and is in memory of Joshua Helfrich, our 10 year old son, who’s life was cut tragically short on September 16, 2004. The foundation that bears his name was founded to distribute aid for charitable and educational purposes primarily for children and young adults. We invite you to explore our web home.
